Branch House is a 501(c) (3) non-profit agency that provides services for victims of interpersonal violence in Sullivan County. Our mission is to advocate for and empower survivors of abuse through unified community engagement, collaboration, and education.
Job Summary:
Branch House is searching for a Navigator with the leadership and organizational skills to coordinate both direct and indirect victim resources to clients and/or their families seeking services at Sullivan County Family Justice Center. This full-time position works closely with clients and Branch House agencies to establish trusting relationships and build collaborative partnerships.
Essential Functions:
- Interview clients to determine appropriate services
- Assist clients in navigating the various programs and services offered at Branch House
- Work with victim advocates to conduct client risk/needs assessments and create individualized safety plans
- Provide follow-up case management and support to clients
- Create and update all client intake paperwork, policies, and procedures
- Maintain confidential client records and files
- Provide outreach, education, and training to staff, partner agencies, and community, when requested
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement, criminal justice professionals, social service agencies, and any other organizations involved in the delivery of victim services
- Assist in training and oversight of volunteers and interns
- Maintain an organized and efficient front office, including answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and responding to email correspondence
Minimum Training and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in related field or be within 20 credit hours of obtaining that degree and actively pursuing credit hours
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to problem solve, meet deadlines, and follow grant rules and policies
- A willingness to work with people from varied and diverse backgrounds
- The ability to work flexible hours if needed
- Successfully pass a background check
- Possess a valid Tennessee driver’s license and automobile insurance
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Knowledge of best practices relating to interfamilial violence, human trafficking, elder abuse, and/or sexual assault
- Knowledge of criminal justice system and social service system
- Training in trauma-informed care, conflict resolution, and/or crisis management
- Experience working with victims of violence
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus
